Fanny Pack Left Behind

Posted on September 10, 2023

9/10/98: We were bedecked with garlands of white silk from the owner of the hotel as we departed before sunrise on our way to the airport… Wonderful Nepalese hospitality… The flight was uneventful and unfortunately the weather was overcast, so we did not get to see the Himalayas from the air… After landing in Delhi we shared a taxi with a travelling Londoner named Oliver, and caught up for dinner with him later as well… Driving through the city we encountered an unexpected traffic obstacle: an elephant!… After unpacking, we walked to the YMCA Blue Triangle and were very pleased to find that Ruth’s fanny pack had been forwarded from Emmanuel Ministries in Calcutta, where I had left it behind… 😉

NOTE: The photo above shows a new traffic obstacle we had not yet experienced before: elephants!
