Scrabble With Logophiles

Posted on September 3, 2023

9/3/98: Ruth feeling much better, joined me at the hospital to shoot a cleft palette surgery… We also went to Green Pastures Hospital (GPH) to photograph skin graft surgeries for recovering leprosy patients… Also spent time touring and photographing the rehabilitation clinic where prosthetics are manufactures and patients go through occupational therapy… Played a game of Scrabble with logophiles from New Zealand, Australia and England… Was soundly beaten, but had great fun just the same…

NOTE: The photo above shows a cow peeking through the slats of a barn wall at the rehabilitation center. Patients who lose fingers and toes or limbs due to leprosy receive skin grafts and learn how to adapt at the rehabilitation clinic.

Believe it or not, the surgeons and nurses all wore flip-flops in the OR!

A fun evening with INF staff members from all over the world, including a great Scrabble game.
