1/24/99: Dad took us all to the Hula Bowl today! He’s a big sports fan, so he would not be gainsaid when he thought we were even slightly interested… It was uncharacteristically cold and rainy at War Memorial Stadium down in Kahului, but it was a lot of fun. We sat with the marching band, which was a bit loud, but the place to be when it came to getting excited about touchdowns and big plays… Afterwards there was a concert featuring Leanne Rimes, and an opening act featuring some local Hawaiian artists…
