10/29/98: Another departure date has arrived… We had a final breakfast meal with Carl and Karen, during which we asked and heard about how they met… These two are a great blessing… Then we took a bus to the airport, and unexpectedly got bumped up to business class seats free of charge… We arrived safely in Bangkok and checked into a touristy hotel frequented by the backpacking crowd… After a stop at the post office, we took a ride a river taxi, and then purchased train tickets on to Chiang Mai, our next work assignment destination, but all of the travel agents we found said they would need 2 days of notice…
