Amusement Park

Posted on October 4, 2023

10/4/98: It is Sunday, but no churches in this city, so we all had a time of worship right there in John & Ivette’s apartment… Then we all ate lunch at a place where they were making the noodles fresh on the spot… Inexpensive, super delicious, and freshly made noodles and soup… They took us up the mountain to visit a sort of amusement park… To get there we had to ride a rickety old cable-car system that made me wonder if we’d make it back alive… Bumper boats, a long and steep slide traversed by tiny wheeled sleds, and their version of what we call a log ride (a sort of roller coaster in a boat on a lazy river that ends with a splashy plummet down a man-made flume)… A very fun rest day with their family…

NOTE: The photo above shows the view over Lanzhuo from the cable car ride up the mountain.
