Beihai Park

Posted on September 27, 2023

9/27/98: Stayed in and spent the day reading… We did have to go out to eat though and boy did we find a great treat. Right around the block from our hotel there is a street that turns into a food vending extravaganza between 6-9pm every night… [See our photos in Post # 185 from two days ago…]

9/26/98 addendum: After Jiangshan Park we walked over to Beihai Park and Lagoon… We rented one of those little boats that has a motor run by a car battery… It puts along at about 2 miles an hour, but it was fun and romantic…. We strolled around Qiongdao Island, including an up-close view of the Miaoying Templel (White Pagoda)… Came across several couples getting their wedding photos taken in the park… The photographer had set up an old Triumph TR2 sports car with the lagoon as the backdrop for the wedding couples…

NOTE: The photo above shows Ruth and I out on the lagoon in Beihai Park, with the White Pagoda (Miaoying Temple) in the background.

I wonder where the photographer managed to find that beautiful Triumph TR2.!
