Neither Static Nor Passive

Posted on July 29, 2023

7/29/98: Feeling a little bit run down… busy exciting days, and not enough sleep in the tropical heat and humidity… Visited Victoria Terminus to look into trains to Hyderabad… Visited another house church with Rokny… He preached, then the pastor preached… I preached too, from Ephesians 2:8-13 (we are saved by grace and for good works, not by good works) and chapter 5:1-2 (follow Christ’s example, walk in love as Christ did)… Salvation, in Christian theology, is neither a static nor passive thing…

NOTE: The photos in this post show one of the house churches that we visited while in Mumbai, India. During our 6 weeks in India, I photographed many churches for the book “Quest For Identity” by Roger Hedlund. The book is a scholarly study of India’s churches of indigenous origin.
